{Thrive} 20 Gifts for Eating Well & Living Joyfully

giftsI love giving gifts. Actually, I love giving thoughtful gifts that feel personal and purposeful. While I did avoid the chaos of black Friday like the plague, I’ve been busy scouring the web for ideas and, dare I say, I am about 90% finished with my shopping this year. That might be a record though our goal to cut out the crap and instead spend time enjoying the holidays (and each other) has made this task a bit easier. Still, right about now I start to get major shopping fatigue. I run out of inspiration and I figured you might as well so I gathered a few of my favorites things to help you finish your shopping! If you don’t find something here that speaks to you, check out the newly launched shop which spotlights quite a few of my favorite things to inspire you and yours to “Eat Well and Live Joyfully!” Continue reading “{Thrive} 20 Gifts for Eating Well & Living Joyfully”

{Breathe} Mindful Monday: Celebrating Light and Love

summer solstice yoga loveToday is the summer solstice and tomorrow is International Yoga Day and that is not a coincidence. The summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year, has a spiritual meaning for many cultures and it is thought that on this day, the first yogi began sharing the knowledge of yoga with others. Oh, and if all of that was not exciting enough, there is going to be a rare Full Strawberry Moon tonight! What’s a strawberry moon? I had no idea though it sounds kinda delicious and I giggled with Hudson at the idea that maybe we could look up to the sky tonight and see a strawberry instead of the moon.  But seriously, a Strawberry Moon, also known as a Full Rose Moon, which sounds equally as lovely, was named by the Algonquin tribes as they thought it was a signal to gather ripening fruit. I love this! Full Moon + Strawberry Moon + Summer Solstice + Yoga = a gaggle of good vibes if you ask me. So let’s dive into what all of this really means celebrate the beauty of all of this goodness. Continue reading “{Breathe} Mindful Monday: Celebrating Light and Love”

{Breathe} 5 Minute Reboot

Reboot your body Like it does for your phone, your computer and even your TV–a good ‘ole power-off and reboot works wonders for your body. We tend to go, go, go and instead of offering ourselves the opportunity to reboot and refresh we max out. When we max out we are not able to be the best version of ourselves–we start gliching! While a weekend away or a luxurious massage may be the reset you’re dreaming of– it might not be in the cards and honestly, the day-to-day reboot might be more important than that every-so-often escape. Here are a few tools you can use to re-boot any time, anywhere!

{Monthly Morsels} October Edition

Things you should know October @katiecavutoRDOctober was a blast! I started off the month in Nashville for the annual Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo and I’ll share a few highlights below! After that, the month seemed to be packed Wellness Day talks for Unite For Her–a local organization that empowers newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and provides them with free services like acupuncture, yoga and of course, Nutrition. I spent tons of time in-home with our participants teaching them to cook up healthy meals! I find this time to be truly gratifying. Other than that–I celebrated pumpkins, persimmons winter squash and, of course, Halloween! Here is a recap of the highlights! Continue reading “{Monthly Morsels} October Edition”
