{Nourish} Sweet Potato, Winter Squash and Cranberry Crumble

Sweet Potato, Winter Squash and Cranberry Crumble by @KatieCavutoRDThis Sweet Potato, Winter Squash and Cranberry Crumble made it’s debut on my Thanksgiving table and I have to say, I am pretty psyched about it. I have always been a fan of the crumble but I never considered a savory version like this and I’m hooked. Sweet potatoes and butternut squash pair perfectly with tart, fresh cranberries to create the foundation of this savory Sweet Potato, Winter Squash and Cranberry Crumble that is going to be a go-to dish over the next few months. Oats, almonds, spices and maple combine to make a slightly sweet and perfectly crunchy foil to the savory veggies. Oh, this recipe is also gluten-free and dairy-free and it will feed (and please) a crowd! Continue reading “{Nourish} Sweet Potato, Winter Squash and Cranberry Crumble”

{Nourish} Chocolate Chip Cashew Butter Oatmeal Muffins

Now three weeks into kindergarten, we (meaning me) might actually be getting used to this new schedule which has dramatically slashed our morning chill time. Less time calls for healthy breakfast options that are appealing and easy to eat on the fly. This baked oatmeal muffin is exactly that and even better, it is just as appealing to us parents as you only need one bowl and a few ingredients. You might even have enough left over to freeze. {Nourish} Cool Weather Cobbler

Cool Weather Cobbler with Cranberries and Ginger @KatieCavutoRDAs far as I am concerned, every season deserves a cobbler or crumble of sorts. While I tend not to have much of a sweet tooth (pass the potato chips, please), I love fruit and roasted fruit may just top the list of my favorite desserts–they simply feel more savory to me. This cool weather cobbler is packed with fall flavors including savory spices like ginger and cinnamon. Apple and pears cozy up together with antioxidant rich, immune boosting cherries and cranberries for a colorful, sweet and tart, treat that is really satisfying. The crumble is bolstered by the richness of almonds and pumpkin seeds which add texture, satiating healthy fats and an added boost of nutrient density. A touch of maple syrup is all you need to accent this naturally sweet dessert that is honestly so good for you I would eat it for breakfast too! Bonus, you can swap the fruit depending on the season. Peaches, rhubarb, berries–they would all work beautifully in this recipe! Continue reading “{Nourish} Cool Weather Cobbler”
