{Breathe} Mindful Monday: Celebrating Light and Love

summer solstice yoga loveToday is the summer solstice and tomorrow is International Yoga Day and that is not a coincidence. The summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year, has a spiritual meaning for many cultures and it is thought that on this day, the first yogi began sharing the knowledge of yoga with others. Oh, and if all of that was not exciting enough, there is going to be a rare Full Strawberry Moon tonight! What’s a strawberry moon? I had no idea though it sounds kinda delicious and I giggled with Hudson at the idea that maybe we could look up to the sky tonight and see a strawberry instead of the moon.  But seriously, a Strawberry Moon, also known as a Full Rose Moon, which sounds equally as lovely, was named by the Algonquin tribes as they thought it was a signal to gather ripening fruit. I love this! Full Moon + Strawberry Moon + Summer Solstice + Yoga = a gaggle of good vibes if you ask me. My struggle with Lyme for the past two years has been a blessing in the fact that it has forced me to prioritize my health and my needs. I hear this often from my clients–it takes an illness to stop them in their tracks…open their eyes…and change their habits!
