{Nourish} Holiday Side Dish Round-Up

Orange zest as well as earthy, savory herbs and spices have a tendency to slay me. I am honestly getting giddy just thinking about our holiday spread. Thanksgiving may be  my favorite meal of the year.  While I love tradition, I also enjoy introducing new flavors, grains and vegetables to our holidays so keep it interesting. So much so that I am cooking up a Moroccan Spiced Turkey this year which has me daydreaming of the aromatic scents that will fill my kitchen this time next week. My mission as a chef and dietitian is to inspire people to create meals that taste great and are great for you too. {Nourish} Farmer’s Cheese Crostini 3 Ways

farmersThings on toast. Who doesn’t love them? Considering the idea that just about anything spread on toast gets people excited, I figured I would offer a slightly different play on the idea. Avocado, goat cheese, ricotta and hummus are now staple spreads in many of our houses but Farmer’s cheese might be a new one to you. In celebration of the spring bounty at the market, here are three variations of farmer’s cheese crostini that are really easy to create. I was actually able to use ingredients I already had in the house to pull these together and they were a beautiful bunch…all equally delicious. You are now ready for spring entertaining! {Nourish} Broiled Radishes with Citrus and Greens

Radishes hold a special place in my heart. You see, the first year I joined a CSA I had the pleasure of tasting a radish for the first time. Yes, I had eaten many radishes prior to that moment, but I remain convinced that the CSA radish was my first true encounter with this wildly flavorful vegetable. Crunchy, spicy, tangy and refreshing, sinking your teeth into a fresh radish can be a knock-your-socks off, flavorful eating experience. Oh, and you can cook with them too!
