{Nourish} Crockpot Giveaway with Summer Recipes

Friends, I have admittedly been MIA. Life has been nutty so I hunkered down and prioritized my work commitments.  As much as I love this blog and all of you, I had to stay true to my new, healthier self, and not over do it. This is self-care in action and it helps, I can tell you! That being said, I have missed this site and I am eager to get back into the swing of things and to re-connect with all of you. As a thank you for your patience, I am psyched to giveaway this fancy new Crockpot. Truth be told, I have never been much of a crockpot cooker but I appreciate it’s beauty as a time saving trick. Again, self-care means making your life easier and cutting out the stress, so it’s fitting. Knowing my limitations and lack of experience with the whole slow cooking thing, I teamed up with some friends to share a few summer inspired crockpot recipes. While we don’t often think of a crockpot as a summer thing, it;s quite efficient and effective as it contains the heat so your house will stay cool. I’m all for that. Forget those soups and stews from the winter for now, here are some recipe ideas that you can make in your slow-cooker right now. And if you don’t have one of your own, enter the giveaway at the end of the blog!  Continue reading “{Nourish} Crockpot Giveaway with Summer Recipes”

{Nourish} Holiday Side Dish Round-Up

Roasted Delicata Squash @KatiecavutoRdThe side dishes are my favorite part of  our Thanksgiving feast. Root vegetables and winter squash are so cozy and satisfying. Orange zest as well as earthy, savory herbs and spices have a tendency to slay me. I am honestly getting giddy just thinking about our holiday spread. Thanksgiving may be  my favorite meal of the year.  While I love tradition, I also enjoy introducing new flavors, grains and vegetables to our holidays so keep it interesting. So much so that I am cooking up a Moroccan Spiced Turkey this year which has me daydreaming of the aromatic scents that will fill my kitchen this time next week. If you’re not ready to give up those traditional sides, it could be fun to add something new to your spread and this post has all of the inspiration you need. Fire crackling, candles lit, Thanksgiving is about to kick off the cozy vibes that embody the cooler months of winter. Yes! Continue reading “{Nourish} Holiday Side Dish Round-Up”

{Nourish} Grilled Fruits and Veggies Round-Up

Grilled Fruits and Vegetables @katiecavutoRD

Father’s day is this weekend! Like many dads, mine is a grilling machine. That’s his happy place in “the kitchen”. Sure, you can grill-up a batch of BBQ chicken or sausage (staples at my parents house) or you can add some inspiration to the menu this year! Meats are a go-to grill option but fruits and vegetables should not be ignored. The grill has a wonderful way of caramelizing the natural sugars of the ingredients. That being said, I rounded up grilled fruit and vegetable recipes that will pair perfectly with the Summer Grilling Main Dish Round-Up we posted last week.  Continue reading “{Nourish} Grilled Fruits and Veggies Round-Up”

{Nourish} Summer Grilling Recipe Round-up

Summer Grilling Recipe Round Up @katiecavutoRDThis is a first. I am having recipe/life envy as a result of this post. You see, when I moved last year, one of the things I gave up was (sigh) outdoor space and a grill. Ugh. It pains me every day. The woes of city living…though I love my new digs. The outdoor space issue rarely feels problematic as there are three parks within two-three blocks of my house. The grill on the other hand. I crave it this time of year. Sure, I resort to using my grill pan but we all know that it just isn’t the same. That being said, I will assume that most of you have a grill and for the record– I want you to know that I would be happy to come grill-out at your house anytime (hint, hint). I’ll cook!?  In the meantime, here is a round-up of grilling recipes to get your creative juices flowing. I even included one of my own. Using my grill-pan, of course!

Delicate herbs are synonymous with spring flavor profiles so, to celebrate this nice weather, I rounded up a collection of herbaceous recipes worthy of the season. Oh, and there is a lot of asparagus too! Continue reading “{Nourish} Recipe Round Up: Spring Herbs!”
