Summer Burger Round Up Plus Grilling and Meal Prep Tips

It’s officially backyard BBQ season, but we don’t have to compromise our eating habits to have a good time. To kick off this festive weekend I’ve rounded up some of the best homemade burgers I could find. Each of these burgers are made with whole-food ingredients and are beaming with all the right summer flavors. Everything from traditional beef burgers, to salmon or turkey and even simple, delicious veggies burgers. No matter your preference, you’re sure to find a mouthwatering burger in this mix. So grab a refreshing beverage and find your favorite patty to grill up this weekend. Meal Prep Tips

  • Make the patties ahead of time and save yourself some day-of stress. Ground beef, turkey and seafood burgers will hold for 1-2 days in the fridge. Veggie burgers will hold for 3-4 days. 
  • Form the perfect patty with this burger press. It will ensure each burger is cooked evenly throughout.
  • If you do choose to make the burgers day-of, separate them with parchment paper and pop them into the freezer for about 5 minutes before grilling. This will help the patties keep their form and stay extra juicy.

 

Cooking Tip

If you’re like me and outdoor space is limited, you can easily make these burgers right in the kitchen. I like to use my cast iron skillet or grill pan to get a good sear and crisp up the outside edge of the burger. Then, I finish cooking the patties in the oven at about 400 degrees until cooked through.
