It’s nearly impossible to read a nutrition or health blog and not see a green smoothie or ode to kale. Sure, greens are all the rage but they come in many forms. This year, Brussels Sprouts are trending and I am not talking about pickling or roasting them. Brussels have made their way to the blender and will be popping up in glasses of green smoothies this year.
Sure, we have finally caught on to the fact that Brussels Sprouts are absolutely delicious but might I add, they are ridiculously good for you. They are packed with fiber which can be cholesterol lowering, blood sugar regulating, beneficial to digestive health and satiating. Brussels are anti-inflammatory and loaded with antioxidants that are disease preventing. They are a good source of folate and vitamins A, C and K and are beneficial when it comes to cardiac health and cancer prevention.
We are convinced that Brussels Sprouts deserve a spot in our smoothies. Here is a recipe to try!
